TRADITIONAL SERVICES

Commercial vessels

Before accepting a vessel we undertake compliance checks onboard. For older vessels this initial vetting includes ships structure & outfit together with operational capability.

Annual Flag Safety Inspection (AFSI) scope - confirmation of ship compliance with International Conventions Vessels over 5 years of age:

Cargo Ship Safety Inspection: at initial registration, then annually.

Initial Inspection for vessel >10 years of age (Int.>10) scope - ship structure & outfit Vessels over 10 years of age: at time of initial registration only.

Safety Watch (SW) scope - operational capability and PSC detention 'hot-spots' Vessels over 10 years of age: in first year, then annually.

Safety Watch

Under the Safety Watch scheme owners elect to have their vessels checked annually by BMSR nautical inspectors according to a checklist supplied and regularly updated by the Registry. This checklist is compiled from statistical information following the monitoring of MOU detention reports and highlights the areas of ships that are most commonly causing difficulties. Entry into this scheme is optional for vessels under ten years of age joining the Register.
